The Federal Communications Commission has stripped Maine Cellular of its license to operate cellular telephone service in the Greater Portland area and awarded the license to Northeast Cellular Telephone Co. Northeast is controlled by Timothy D. Hutchinson, owner of Pine Tree Telephone Co. of Gray, and United States Cellular is a major partner. Details.
