Abstract

Town officials in Old Orchard Beach have passed ordinances against public urination, cruising and tire-squealing, and have strengthened disorderly conduct laws, all as a result of recent brawls and stabbings which typically occur when the town's bars empty out for the night. Officials say that the period when the bars close each night is when most is done to undermine the campaign to market the resort town as a premier family resort. Details.
