Abstract

The Legislature's Judiciary Committe unanimously endorsed Portland lawyer Howard H. Dana, Jr., for appointment to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. Dana, 52, of Cape Elizabeth, is nationally recognized for his efforts to assure legal services for the poor. The committee also endorsed the elevation of District Court Judge Nancy D. Mills to the Superior Court. Both appointments are subject to Senate confirmation.
