Abstract

U.S. District judge Gene Carter has upheld the state's tax on milk, which goes into effect when wholesale prices drop below a certain level and is designed to help Maine dairy farmers. Cumberland Farms of Canton, Mass., had claimed that the tax penalized out-of-state milk.
