Abstract

A coalition consisting of the Chamber of Commerce of the Greater Portland Region, the Greater Portland Council of Governments, United Way of Greater Portland and the city of Portland is a finalist for a $400,000 grant from the Pew Partnership for Civic Change. The grant will allow the coalition to run the "Bridge for Independence" program for three years. The aim of the program is to address problems that increase dependence on the area's social services network.
