Abstract

The 33/50 program was started by the federal Environmental Protection Agency in 1991 and is aimed at cutting the amount of toxic chemicals which industry emits into the environment. A number of Maine companies are participating, and while progress has been made toward cutting the amount of toxic pollutants there have been criticisms of the EPA's program. Details, list of Maine companies participating.
