Abstract

Portland police chief Michael J. Chitwood said yesterday that he opposes establishment of additional halfway houses for inmates in Portland and that he will voice his opposition at a Planning Board next week. Pharos House, which operates a facility for inmates on Grant Street, wants to establish another faciltity on Washington Avenue.
