Abstract

Dr. Katheleen Gensheimer, the state epidemiologist, is concerned that federal health officials have, perhaps, overemphasized the dangers of the upcoming flu season. She notes that health officials do not know what strain of flu will hit Maine, or how widespread it will be. She fears a loss of public confidence if a major epidemic does not occurr.
