Abstract

The Lewiston School Board, in a 6-3 vote, reversed an earlier decision and ordered teachers to honor a mother's request that her severely disabled daughter not be resuscitated if her heart stops beating. Linda Lafrance had requested that 12-year-old Corey Brown, who suffers from spastic cerebral palsy and severe scoliosis, be allowed to die if she went into cardiac arrest. Details.
