Abstract

Guilford Industries is expected to announce today a plan that would create a new railroad company that would operate the eastern end of the Canadian Pacific line from Mattawamkeag in Maine to St. John. The rail link, considered vital to the future of hundreds of jobs at the Georgia-Pacific plant in Woodland, is being abandoned by the Canadian Pacific.
