Abstract

Lawyer Andrews Campbell was convicted in 1987 of selling two pounds of marijuana, leading to his being disbarred and spending ten months in federal prison. Campbell applied to to the Maine Board of Bar Overseers for reinstatement, but his application was rejected in a sharply worded opinion written by Maine Supreme Judicial Court justice Howard Dana. Dana, who had hired convicted drug smuggler Harvey Prager to clerk for him, apparently felt that Campbell had not been rehabilitated. Details.
