Abstract
The Maine Land Use Regulation Commission voted 4-1 to deny approval of a new boat launch on Spencer Lake. Sportsman's Alliance of Maine Director George Smith criticized the vote, and said SAM may offer legislation to remove LURC from making decisions on boat launch sitings. SAM believes the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife should have sole authority on siting decisions. LURC was considering a request from IF&W for a boat launch on the 1,819-acre lake.
