Abstract

Richmond residents have refused to support selectmen in their backing of the proposed Maritimes & Northeast pipeline route. The value of the pipeline and a proposed compressor station in Richmond has been estimated at $17.5 million, which could produce $300,000 in annual tax revenues. At a recent special town meeting, voters decided to ask the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to site the pipeline along the existing utility corridor outside Richmond. Details.
