Abstract

Blood-alcohol tests performed by Demers Laboratory in Springvale are being questioned by district attorneys around the state because some of the tests were performed by a chemist who was not state-certified. Cumberland County Deputy District Attorney Edmund Folsom says his office has not had to drop any OUI charges because of the situation, but admits that it could weaken any evidence used in prosecutions.
