Description

General interior view of Continental Lounge dining room, Graymore Hotel, 21 Preble Street. Bar at left, small tables at center, and booths at right. Walls decorated with painted murals. The Graymore was renamed The Plaza Hotel, in 1966.
The Continental Lounge was later known as the Penguin Lounge (ca. 1970), and renamed The Downtown Lounge, in December 1979. As the Downtown Lounge, the venue had a brief life as a punk rock venue until a major building fire on 25 October 1981. The hotel building was demolished in October 1985.
