Abstract

Bath city officials have not yet decided whether to appeal the state Board of Property Tax Review's decision on the assessment of Bath Iron Works. If Bath accepts the ruling, it could cost the city $2.1 million in taxes and interest from BIW's 1991 tax bill. An attorney for the city of Westbrook, which was involved in a similar case with S.D. Warren, said Bath should await the board's written ruling before deciding whether or not to appeal. Details.
