Abstract
The state Bureau of Health yesterday issued an advisory warning pregnant women, nursing mothers and women of childbearing age not to eat Maine lobster tomalley due to dioxin contamination -- A 1993 testing program found high concentrations of dioxin in the tomalley of lobsters caught near river mouths in Portland, Phippsburg and Bucksport -- Dioxin, a byproduct of combustion, is believed to be formed when paper mills use chlorine or its compounds to bleach wood pulp -- Details
