Abstract

Jan and Bruce Willson, operators of Hope House in Mechanic Falls, yesterday voluntarily gave up their Department of Human Services (DHS) license to operate the foster home for teenage mothers -- DHS had restricted the Willsons' license after the couple spoke to the media about the case of 2-month-old Chase Crowley, who was found dead in an Auburn motel room in September 1991 Portland police chief Michael Chitwood was at yesterday's DHS hearing to testify on behalf of the Willsons, but the hearing officer called his testimony inappropriate
