Abstract

The Maine State Planning Office yesterday released its Long Range Economic Forecast, which projects conditions for the state through the year 2005 -- The yearlong study projects that Maine's job base will grow by fewer than 10,000 new positions annually over the next 12 years, just one-third the pace of the previous two decades -- Although employment gains will be sluggish, productivity is expected to improve, resulting in robust growth in terms of dollar value -- Details
