Abstract

Canine Connection, located off Forest Avenue in Portland, yesterday held an agility competition for dogs. The agility competition, which includes sprinting, leaping, balancing and climbing, was introduced in Maine in 1990 by Jean MacKenzie of Poland, who manages the Promised Land Agility Club, the first organization of its kind in the state. Any dog--purebred or mutt--can participate; scores are based on skill.
