Abstract

Former Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives John L. Martin yesterday filed primary nomination papers as a candidate for state representative in District 151. Martin's candidacy took many political observers by surprise, since it was widely believed that this would be his last term in the House. Martin accepted a position with the Democratic National Committee after he resigned as House Speaker. Details.
