Abstract

Officials are urging Maine homeowners to have their well water tested because of widespread arsenic pollution. Evidence now suggests that 10 percent of Maine wells have dangerous levels of arsenic that occurs naturally and is not caused by landfills or other sources of man-made pollution. Homeowners are urged not to panic because the toxic metal can be filtered out. With lists of testing laboratories and the characteristics of arsenic.
