Abstract
The board of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency yesterday voted 7-4 in favor of Auburn police chief Roger Stricker becoming director of the MDEA. The recommendation now goes to Public Safety Commissioner John Atwood, who must obtain Gov. McKernan's approval before the appointment becomes final. Stricker has been with the Auburn police department since 1990, and was an undercover narcotics agent in Chicago for eight years.
