Abstract

In their first week of availability, 2,300 pairs of the new loon licenses plates were purchased by Mainers. There is a $20 annual surcharge on the plates, which depict a swimming loon and vegetation. The state Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will benefit from sales of the new plate.
