Moira Simonds of the Freeport Teen Opportunity Program is one of the organizers of an effort to construct a $40,000, multi-use, outdoor recreational facility to be located near Freeport Middle School. Federal regulators last year denied approval for a proposal to construct athletic fields on Lower Mast Landing Road, prompting a search for other sites. Details.
