Abstract

The U.S. Postal Service has compiled a list of 28 rural post offices in the state that might be closed or consolidated. One post office targeted is the Sargentville Post Office, which serves 57 customers in the winter and 116 during the summer. Officals say closing it could save $22,700 annually. The state has 462 post offices, and some towns have multiple offices just miles apart. Details.
