Abstract

The Metro bus system has received a federal grant that will cover 80 percent of the cost of purchasing four shuttle buses and operating them for two years. The shuttles would be used to transport downtown workers from commuter parking lots on Marginal Way and the waterfront. Two of the shuttles would be powered by electricity, and the other two would run on compressed natural gas. The system could be in place by early 1995, if Metro can come up with the remaining 20 percent of the cost. Details.
