Abstract

Cape Elizabeth's transfer station has become the place where local and state political candidates go to look for votes. U.S. Senator William Cohen has campaigned at the dump, and on Saturday a number of local candidates were there pressing the flesh and chatting with residents. Around 85 percent of Cape Elizabeth residents haul their own trash to the dump, while the remainder contract with commercial trash-haulers. Details.
