Abstract

Carey Phillips, an assistant biology professor at Bowdoin College, is head of a three-man team working on a series of educational CD-ROM disks called "Interactive Knowledge." The first program is about how cells divide, and most of the funding for it came from a $125,000 National Science Foundation grant. Book publishers are convinced that Phillips' product is state-of-the-art, and are eager to land a contract with him. Some of his innovations include top-quality animation, striking colors and a high degree of interactive potential. Details.
