Abstract

The Portland School Committee's Family Living and Human Sexuality Advisory Board yesterday announced the results of three surveys it conducted on the subject of making condoms available to the city's high school students. The surveys, to be compiled into a report later this week, show that 83 percent of students and 56 percent of parents who responded to the survey believe condoms should be available to students. Fifty-two percent of teachers and staff said they thought condom availability was a bad idea, while 35 percent supported it. Details.
