Abstract

The Auburn School Department's bus garage is the site of the WasteShare Resource Center, a way station for business and industrial waste salvaged for use by educators. Portland established a similar center, the Creative Resource Center, 20 years ago, which served as the model for the University of Maine at Farmington's Everyone's Resource Depot. The centers help those schools hit by cuts in their materials budgets, and reduce waste and recycle supplies. Details.
