Abstract

The state Public Utilities Commission's advocacy staff has issued a report recommending that Consumers Maine Water Companies receive a $1 million rate increase on its Freeport customers, just 40 percent of what the utility requested. If the rate plan is approved by the PUC, Freeport customers of the water company will realize a 6 percent rate decrease rather than the 12 percent increase proposed by the company. The utility wants to raise annual revenue by around $2.5 million in its seven divisions. Details.
