Abstract
The U.S. Justice Department yesterday announced that the Maine State Police and the town of Wells will receive anti-crime grants aimed at promoting community policing. The state will receive $300,000 to add four troopers to Troop B, which covers the Gray-New Gloucester area. Wells will receive $150,000 for two new police officers, but their hiring could be contingent on voter approval. Details.
