Abstract

A bankruptcy judge has agreed to a plan under which Peacock Aquaculture Group of Lubec will assume ownership of Maine Pride Salmon Inc. of Eastport. Maine Pride filed for protection under Chapter 11 last September, but continues to employ about 45 people who operate 136 fish pens holding 500,000 salmon. Peacock Aquaculture runs R.J. Canning Co. of Lubec and Bingham Aquaculture Ltd. of Bingham, and has agreed to assume Maine Pride's $10 million in debt.
