Abstract

Portland city manager Robert B. Ganley last week wrote a letter to Frank L. Gaziano apologizing for not including him in a decision regarding the bandstand in Deering Oaks, which Gaziano donated to the city in 1984. A master plan for Deering Oaks included a recommendation to demolish the bandstand, but that proposal has now been rescinded. Gaziano, who was upset when he first heard of the proposal to demolish the $50,000 gift, yesterday said he was grateful for the apology. Details.
