Abstract

Bob Maurais, a teacher in Yarmouth, yesterday led a workshop in Wiscasset on how to access the satellite images that beam information down to earth. All a person needs is a computer, an antenna and the right software, and the electronic data is free. The workshop was sponsored by the Gulf of Maine Aquarium, which is promoting the use of satellites because the technology provides an effective means of studying changes in the aquatic environment.
