Abstract

The Greater Portland Economic Development Council was founded around a year ago with backing from the Greater Portland Chamber of Commerce, and one of its original goals was to develop a business incubator, which offers either low rent or subsidized services to help young companies grow. The Enterprise Development Center was the Council's original incubator, but that has now become the Center for Environmental Enterprise, and its aim is to nurture businesses that are environmentally friendly.
