Abstract
James V. Oliver, director of the Portland West Neighborhood Planning Council, in a letter to The Portland Newspapers said that an independent investigator hired by the agency had cleared housing manager Sandra Murch of charges of racism. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in April accused Murch of making racist remarks about a tenant. Oliver, a Democratic state legislator from Portland, criticized both the newspaper and the NAACP for their handling of the situation. Details.
