Abstract

James Whittaker, the chairman of Coast Bank, has announced plans to clsoe the bank's downtown Portland branch in September. Whittaker notes that the branch hasn't generated enough business to justify keeping it open. The branch, located at the corner of Spring and Temple streets, has deposits, which fluctuate between $6 million and $8 million.
