Abstract
Many Maine motorists have been left angry and confused by a letter mailed by the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles warning motorists that their vehicles must meet emissions standards before their registrations expire on at end July. The letter resulted in many motorists going to and being turned away from the new emission testing centers that aren't due to open until July 1. The testing centers will be located in Lewiston, Augusta, Topsham, Westbrook, Rockland, Kennebunk and Wiscasset.
