Abstract

Catherine Coffill Ellis lost custody of her three children in March, with her ex-husband gaining custody of two of the children. Timothy J. Ellis, 26, of Jacksonville, Fla., was arrested by Jacksonville police and charged with aggravated assault and second-degree murder in the death of Timothy Ellis, who died four days after being struck by the elder Ellis on June 4. Catherine Ellis' attorney, David Paris of Bath, says Timothy Ellis' history of violence was overlooked by the court when it gave him custody of the younger Ellis and his sister Teresa.
