Abstract

Hannaford Bros. Co. of Scarborough announced yesterday that it will pay $120 million for Wilson's Supermarkets of Wilmington, N.C., which has 20 stores in the Carolinas. Hannaford currently has 95 supermarkets and 15,000 employees in New England and New York, with annual sales of $2 billion. Wilson's, a privately-held company, expects sales of $200 million for 1994. The purchase of the 20 Wilson's stores includes land for five future stores. Details.
