Abstract

Philanthropist Elizabeth B. Noyce has donated $600,000 to the Damariscotta River Association to help the 900-member conservation organization purchase the 90-acre Great Salt Bay Farm on Belvedere Road in Damariscotta, one of the last intact saltwater farms. The association has signed a $750,000 option on the farm, and hopes to raise another $750,000 to purchase Outer Thumbcap and Outer White islands, nesting areas for seabirds.
