Abstract

Jane Sheehan, commissioner of the Maine Department of Human Services, yesterday upheld a March 2 decision that approved Mid Coast Hospital's proposed new hospital without a planned eight-bed obstetrics unit. Mid Coast had earlier said that the proposal to merge its Bath and Brunswick branches into a new complex off Bath Road will not proceed without the obstetrics unit, and after yesterday's decision the hospital said it will review the decision before deciding what to do next.
