Abstract

The Portland City Hall Auditorium will close in February 1995 for a long-delayed, $8.2 million renovation project, and during the 16 months the renovation is projected to take the hall's three resident classical music groups will have to move to other facilities. The Portland Symphony Orchestra and the Portland Concert Association will hold their concerts in the State Theatre, the Cumberland County Civic Center and St. Luke's Cathedral, among other venues, while the Friends of the Kotzschmar have not decided what they will do during the renovation. The PSC and the PCA know they must entice their patrons away from the familiar city hall. Details.
