Abstract

The National Park Service has awarded the Penobscot Indian tribe a $49,000 grant to produce "Penobscot: The People and Their River," a 30-minute film that will examine the relationship between the tribe and the Penobscot River. The film will look at the physical and spiritual connections between the Penobscots and the river, and the problems caused by pollution, the loss of the Atlantic salmon and the damming of the river.
