Abstract

A jury yesterday convicted Raymond Hatch, 47, of Brunswick of simple assault after a lone juror refused to go along with his eleven peers who wanted to find Hatch guilty of aggravated assault in the March 26 steak-knife stabbing of Beverly Hafford, Hatch's girlfriend. Hatch, who served 12 years in a Colorado prison for the brutal murder of a college student, is feared by many residents of Brunswick.
