Abstract

Yarmouth town officials are considering the creation of a tax increment financing district to help keep the U.S. Post Office on Main Street. The post office is planning to move from its current quarters, and the Cole-Haan offices will be vacated when the footwear manufacturers new headquarters on Route 1 south of town are complete. Town Manager Nathaniel Tupper believes a tax district would make the Cole-Haan building a more attractive option for the United States Postal Service.
