Abstract

The Maine Bureau of Health yesterday told Limerick town officials that it is now safe to drink tap water from the town's water system without first boiling it. The water system was shut down after water tests revealed the presence of 25 harmful pollutants in the system. Officials believe the runoff from water used in fighting a fire at the old Limerick Mill on June 10 contaminated a shallow well that was connected to the system.
