Abstract

There were 828 housing permits taken out in southern Maine in the first six months of 1994, a 24 percent increase over the same period in 1993, when 665 permits were issued. James Plumer, author of Southern Maine Construction Reports, doesn't expect the 24 percent increase to carry through the remainder of the year, but is looking for a 1994 annual rate of 10 to 12 percent over 1993.
